Shipping policies

  • Please don't send anything unless you've called and made arrangements with me to inspect or work on it.
  • The law and/or shipping regulations may change before I get around to updating this page with new information. So that's another reason to check with me prior to shipping anything.
  • Individuals may not ship firearms via US Mail.
  • To ship a firearm to me for service, you do not need to use an FFL on your end.
You can be in the state of Indiana, or another state, and you still don't need to use an FFL to ship a firearm to me for service.
  • According to regulations in effect when this web page was created, when I return your firearm to you, I can ship it directly back to you.
  • UPS requires handguns to be shipped via OVERNIGHT. I recommend UPS OVERNIGHT SAVER as that is much cheaper than regular UPS OVERNIGHT.
  • Long arms (rifles and shotguns) may be shipped via UPS GROUND, but I still recommend UPS OVERNIGHT SAVER.
  • Here's a link to UPS's Tariff document containing their policy on shipping firearms. It's in a PDF document so you'll need the Adobe Acrobat Reader if you don't already have it. The section on firearms is number 425, as of September 12, 2000.
  • Last we checked, Federal Express (FedEx) requires handguns to be shipped via overnight service.
  • Be sure to insure your shipment for full value.
